The Treasure Valley Hunting Retriever Club (TVHRC) is dedicated to education and assisting Southwestern Idaho and Eastern Oregon retriever owners develop their dogs into well trained, well rounded hunting retrievers. TVHRC is also dedicated to help local dog owners develop the knowledge and skills necessary to train a well-rounded hunting retriever. The club sponsors hunt tests, picnic tests, and training activities on private land from February through September.
TVHRC is associated with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA), organizations committed to developing and testing hunting retrievers.
Club's primary goals include:
Organized exclusively for charitable, and educational purposes that qualify as non-profit organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Education about and support of the AKC and NAHRA Hunt Test programs.
Education of the public about the conservation value of using a trained retriever when hunting waterfowl and upland game.
Picnic tests and seminars to educate individuals with training their retrievers.
Sharing information and resources with members and other organized groups.
